Landscape Architecture Wood Rodgers

LANDSCAPEARCHITECTURE

Collaborating with each of the firm’s disciplines, the landscape architecture studio creates places that contribute to the built environment. We mindfully make spaces that complement their contexts: buildings, town squares, parks, light rail stations, commercial corridors, and campuses. These spaces are designed to become usable environments for both active and passive purposes, creating communities with enduring value.

COMMUNITY DESIGN

From the inception of a community plan through to the completion of site and amenity construction, the Wood Rodgers team ensures that all of the features weave together to enhance life and foster coexistence between people and the natural environment.

PARKS, TRAILS AND OPEN SPACE

Communities heavily inform our parks and recreation design plans so that when the parks are complete, they will be ‘owned’ by their respective communities and endure for generations as community assets and respites from city life.

URBAN DESIGN: PUBLIC SPACES AND STREETSCAPES

Connectivity to community spaces is key to the success of any built environment. We work seamlessly to deliver new and reimagined public spaces that contribute positively to a community’s identity as well as serve to stimulate economic development and enhance livability and sustainability.

CAMPUS DESIGN: SCHOOLS AND HEALTHCARE

This is a full-firm effort with the landscape architecture studio and engineering colleagues collaborating on complicated site development projects involving all types of above and below-ground infrastructure as well as site specific buildings and upgrades. As campuses throughout California re-invent themselves for 21st century uses, we study and implement savvy improvements to contribute to community, provide interpretive outdoor spaces, and create public and private zones that result in campus identity and uniqueness.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES: SUSTAINABILITY AND WATER CONSERVATION

We expertly manage water in a landscape, mindful of quantity used and application. The team includes a water auditor as well as certified irrigation designers and horticulturists who understand the types of plant materials and irrigation needed. We blend technology with on-the-ground know-how to give property owners water-wise options for landscape maintenance.
