Golden State Water Company (GSWC) Well 24

Rancho Cordova, CA

The Golden State Water Company (GSWC) Well 24 Project was a critical water supply and infrastructure project for the replacement of lost capacity in residential Rancho Cordova, CA. This project location was instrumental to not only lost capacity but also a part of the service area that suffered with very low pressure in the distribution system. The Well 24 Project included a concrete masonry unit building to house the chemical and electrical equipment. The pump station features a 125 Hp, 3450 RPM, vertical turbine multi-stage submersible well pump with a best efficiency point of 1,050 gpm @ 340 feet of total dynamic head (80% efficiency). The pump is equipped with an induction type submersible motor suitable for reduced voltage starting, designed for continuous duty, normal torque and low starting current. This facility includes sodium hypochlorite chemical feed pumps and storage for system disinfection and equipped with chlorine analyzers and flow monitoring for system modification. Well 24 met all of the GSWC project objectives, was constructed on time and under budget.
